Dayfree Press: an independent webcomics collective. It's an oxymoron that begs explanation. We're independent because we create our own comics, publish them on our own websites, and support them with our own businesses. But we're a collective because we provide each other with feedback and support, pool our resources for convention and exhibition appearances, tackle group projects together, and help promote one another. (And occassionally exchange high-fives.)

Our group originally launched in 2001. After a few months of rapid growth and change, the group stabalized into something recognizably similar to our current line-up. Since then, we've brought in one or two new members every year, and bid a fond farewell to a few who were ready to move on or tackle other projects. Our original founder, Neil G, retired from webcomics in 2005. Since then, our members have humoured Sam Logan and pretended he is actually in charge of something.

Dayfree Press is not currently accepting open submissions for membership. Generally, we only approach folks who we already know well, both as artists and as friends. However, we and our forum regulars always have our eyes out for talented cartoonists. Why not post about your work on the Dayfree Press message board?
